Quick comparison
How to differentiate three Autel main devices for EV work
Autel's kit considers these three tablets compatible. The difference lies in the basic hardware of the device, the set you currently have, and the EV accessory package you will receive.
Decision guide
First, distinguish the model names from each other
MS909 is not the same product as MS909 EV. MS919, MS919EV, and MS919S2 are also separate products with different names. The standard Ultra S2 and Ultra S2 EV with EV Upgrade Kit are also not the same package. The similarity of these names does not imply that the package contents, connection unit, or EV license are the same.
The standard MS909, MS919, and Ultra S2 tablets can be equipped with the EV Diagnostics Upgrade Kit. Autel's official kit page specifies compatible tablets and connection requirements. Check the product offer to see if the kit is included in the ordered set.
MS909 EV, MS919EV, and Ultra S2 EV are separate EV-focused product options. Ultra S2 EV is Autel's official Ultra S2 + EV Upgrade Kit variant; it is not the same package as the standard Ultra S2.
Otobiltek's live catalog does not have a product page for the standard MS919. The MS919EV product page describes a separate product; do not use it as a link to purchase the standard MS919 + kit.
Decision guide
What does the EV Diagnostics Upgrade Kit add to the box?
Autel states that the kit includes the EVDiag Box and battery connection adapters for specific electric vehicles. The manufacturer's kit page also lists BMW, Tesla, and VW adapters and a carrying case. Since the regional sales package may vary, verify the list of adapters and cables to be delivered in Turkey in the order record.
The EVDiag Box works with the main tablet via a compatible MaxiFlash VCI or VCMI connection. Autel's connection instructions describe pairing the tablet, VCI/VCMI, and EVDiag Box together.
The physical fit of the connector in the box to the vehicle is not sufficient proof of compatibility. Brand, model, model year, battery architecture, software, and the intended operation must be checked in Autel's current vehicle and function list.
Standard OBD scan and data obtained from the battery pack connector are different connection methods. If a special battery adapter is required for the vehicle, the part number and quantity in the set must be confirmed in writing.
Decision guide
What battery data can be obtained from the EV kit?
Autel states that battery data such as SOC, SOH, voltage, current, and temperature can be accessed on supported vehicles with the compatible tablet and EVDiag Box. The parameters displayed on the vehicle vary depending on the BMS, model year, connection, and software coverage. The list of features in the product description does not mean that all data will be accessible on all automobiles.
Save the initial scan report without deleting it; read codes along with customer complaint, temperature, and measurement conditions. After repair, take another scan on the same vehicle and under similar operating conditions.
The appearance of SOH data via the kit does not mean that a separate Autel SOH Blitz report is free on every tablet. Autel also lists specific S2 EV devices for SOH Blitz and license/subscription conditions for other devices.
Diagnostic data is not authorization for physical battery repair, capacity testing, or intervention with high-voltage components. The method of the required test is selected according to the vehicle manufacturer's procedure and the technician's competence.
- BMS fault code and supported system data
- SOC: Vehicle data related to battery charge level
- SOH: Health indicator provided by the manufacturer or test function
- Supported parameters such as package voltage, current, and temperature
Decision guide
Which set should you choose for your service?
If you have an MS909, MS919, or Ultra S2, first check the tablet's current software and EVDiag Box connection compatibility; calculate whether the EV kit meets your needs before purchasing a new main device. When purchasing a new device, list the kit, VCI/VCMI, adapter, and software costs as separate items.
MS909 is one of the standard tablets included in Autel's kit compatibility list. Adding a kit to an existing MS909 is not the same decision as purchasing a separate MS909 EV; the existing device, license, and in-box accessories are taken into account.
The standard MS919 is also on Autel's compatible tablet list. However, Otobiltek's product page for the standard MS919 is currently unavailable. The MS919EV or MS919S2 product pages should not be used in place of the standard MS919.
Ultra S2 is the main tablet mentioned in Autel's kit compatibility. If there is a demand for VCMI2 and measurement hardware, verify that this hardware is included in the delivered Ultra S2 set; the Ultra S2 EV offer must also clearly include the EV Upgrade Kit and EVDiag Box.
Decision guide
Plan high-voltage safety separately from the device
The diagnostic device can display fault codes and supported system data; it does not make the vehicle safe on its own. Physical work on an electric vehicle requires trained personnel, appropriate protective equipment, insulated and tested tools, and the vehicle manufacturer's steps for de-energizing and verifying absence of voltage.
The system appearing as off on the screen is not proof of physical de-energization. Waiting periods and measurement points in the manufacturer's procedure must be followed.
For vehicles that have been in an accident, exposed to water, or show signs of battery damage, a safety assessment is performed before starting the standard scanning procedure. Intervention with high-voltage components is not a purchase feature related to the device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most frequently asked questions by customers
Can the standard Autel MS909 be used for electric vehicles?
Autel lists the standard MS909 tablet as compatible with the EV Diagnostics Upgrade Kit. Battery data and service functions should be checked based on brand, model year, adapter, and software support.
Are MS919 and MS919EV the same product?
No. The standard MS919 is one of the compatible main tablets; MS919EV is a separate EV model. Product names and delivered packages should not be used interchangeably.
Does Ultra S2 mean Ultra S2 EV?
No. The standard Ultra S2 and Ultra S2 EV with EV Upgrade Kit are different packages. Confirm that the EVDiag Box and battery adapters are included in the offer for Ultra S2 EV.
Does the EV Diagnostics Upgrade Kit work as a standalone tablet?
No. The kit is used with a compatible main tablet and MaxiFlash VCI/VCMI connection. A vehicle-model-specific adapter may be required for battery access.
Does the EV kit produce an SOH report on all vehicles?
No. Battery data depends on vehicle and software coverage. Separate report features like SOH Blitz should have their device and license conditions checked separately.
